Prenatal maternal stress, child internalizing and externalizing symptoms, and the moderating role of parenting: findings from the Norwegian mother, father, and child cohort study

Zahra M. Clayborne et al.

Summary: This study examines the associations between prenatal maternal stress and child mental health outcomes, and the moderating effects of parenting behaviors. The results confirm the associations between prenatal maternal stress and children's mental health, and demonstrate that these associations may be modified by parenting behaviors.

The Impact of Sibling Relationships on Later-Life Psychological and Subjective Well-Being

Daniel Shepherd et al.

Summary: Previous research highlights the significant relationship between childhood attachments with mothers and siblings and later-life well-being. Sibling attachment appears to be a stronger predictor of future well-being than paternal attachment. Attachment theory suggests that early-life attachment experiences heavily influence an individual's developmental trajectory and self-perception. However, sibling attachment was not found to moderate the relationship between parental attachment and later-life psychological well-being.
