Alessandra Martinelli et al.

Summary: This study aimed to investigate the situation of people with severe mental illness in residential facilities in Italy and evaluate the quality of these facilities. The study found that, despite appropriate placement based on patients' needs and clinical conditions, most patients were still unable to live independently after 30 months. To improve the effectiveness of residential interventions, it is important to focus on developing the necessary skills for independent living.
