Perception of recently graduated Dutch dentists of their education

Brigitte A. F. M. van Dam et al.

Summary: The education programmes of dental schools in the Netherlands received positive evaluations from recently graduated dentists, particularly in the areas of clinical dental reasoning, scientific thinking, oral healthcare activities, and cooperation. However, some dentists expressed dissatisfaction with their skills in specific procedures and clinical professional areas. Overall, the dentists were satisfied with the educational skills of their teachers and felt that their education aligned well with their professional practice. The introduction of a practical internship was suggested as a good idea by many dentists. Dentists who own their own practices had a less positive overall evaluation compared to those who do not.
