As part of a comprehensive study on the diversity of lichens in northern areas of Pakistan using molecular and morphological approaches, four species of the family Graphidaceae were discovered. Phylogenetic analysis revealed two new lichen records for Pakistan, namely Diploschistes candidissimus and Xalocoaocellata, while D. scruposus and D. muscorum are new records for Azad Jammu & Kashmir state.
As part of comprehensive study of lichen diversity of northern areas of Pakistan using molecular and morphological approaches, we found four species of the family Graphidaceae. The phylogenetic analysis revealed two new records in the lichen biota of Pakistan namely, Diploschistes candidissimus and Xalocoaocellata while D. scruposus and D. muscorum are new records for state Azad Jammu & Kashmir. Brief descriptions and phylogenetic analyses of the taxa are given.
