Epidemiology of pediatric uveitis and associated systemic diseases

Yoonkyeom Shin et al.

Summary: A retrospective observational study conducted at a Korean tertiary hospital found that approximately one-third of children with uveitis in Korea have systemic rheumatic diseases, with juvenile idiopathic arthritis accounting for the majority of cases. HLA-B27 and antinuclear antibody can serve as risk factors for JIA-associated uveitis.

Juvenile idiopathic arthritis in Jordan: single center experience

Raed M. Alzyoud et al.

Summary: This study in Jordan on JIA patients evaluated various clinical and laboratory features, with oligoarticular JIA being the most common subtype. It is suggested that future population-based studies should be conducted to gain a more in-depth understanding of JIA characteristics and patterns.

Summary: This study evaluated the frequency of JIA-associated uveitis and distribution of JIA categories in Turkish pediatric patients. Results showed oligoarticular JIA was the most common category, with a higher risk of uveitis in patients with this type of JIA compared to other categories like enthesitis-related arthritis.
