Detection of the cyanomidyl radical (HNCN): a new interstellar species with the NCN backbone

V. M. Rivilla et al.

Summary: The study reports the first detection of the cyanomidyl radical (HNCN) in the interstellar medium, potentially produced by gas-phase chemistry with a relatively low abundance and high reactivity. This suggests the presence of a plausible precursor of larger prebiotic molecules in interstellar space.

Yebes 40 m radio telescope and the broad band Nanocosmos receivers at 7 mm and 3 mm for line surveys

F. Tercero et al.

Summary: The Yebes 40 m radio telescope, equipped with new receivers in Q band and W band, has increased its frequency coverage for observing molecular transitions efficiently in single-dish mode. The results demonstrate high sensitivity in Q band and comparable results to IRAM 30 m radio telescope in W band, opening up new possibilities to study astrophysical media with unprecedented sensitivity.

Probing the Chemical Complexity of Amines in the ISM: Detection of Vinylamine (C2H3NH2) and Tentative Detection of Ethylamine (C2H5NH2)

Shaoshan Zeng et al.

Summary: The first interstellar detection of vinylamine and tentative detection of ethylamine were reported in this Letter with derived abundances compared to H-2 as (3.3 +/- 0.4) x 10(-10) and (1.9 +/- 0.5) x 10(-10), respectively. The inferred abundance ratios of C2H3NH2 and C2H5NH2 with respect to methylamine are approximately 0.02 and 0.008. Possible chemical routes for the interstellar synthesis of C2H3NH2 and C2H5NH2 were discussed based on recent chemical and laboratory studies.

Thiols in the Interstellar Medium: First Detection of HC(O)SH and Confirmation of C2H5SH

Lucas F. Rodriguez-Almeida et al.

Summary: Compounds with thiol groups are crucial in the polymerization of amino acids in prebiotic studies. We have detected various thiol compounds in interstellar space, with different abundances. The ratios of thiol-bearing species to their alcohol analogs show similar trends in increasing complexity.

First detection of C2H5NCO in the ISM and search of other isocyanates towards the G+0.693-0.027 molecular cloud

L. F. Rodriguez-Almeida et al.

Summary: This study focused on the detection of new isocyanates in the interstellar medium, with a specific emphasis on ethyl isocyanate (C2H5NCO) and vinyl isocyanate (C2H3NCO). Results showed the relative abundance of C2H5NCO and H2NCO+ in the ISM, along with the decreasing trend in relative abundance from simpler isocyanates to more complex ones.

The role of radiolysis in the modelling of C2H4O2 isomers and dimethyl ether in cold dark clouds

Alec Paulive et al.

Summary: This study examines the abundance of complex organic molecules in interstellar sources, exploring both gas-phase and dust grain production routes as well as the potential role of radiolysis chemistry in cold dark clouds. The findings suggest that radiolysis greatly increases the modeled abundance of certain COMs, impacting their presence in different cloud environments.
