A fast and simple method for the simultaneous analysis of midazolam, 1-hydroxymidazolam, 4-hydroxymidazolam and 1-hydroxymidazolam glucuronide in human serum, plasma and urine

A. Mireille A. Wessels et al.

Summary: An accurate method using UHPLC-MS/MS has been developed for the quantification of midazolam and its metabolites in human serum, EDTA plasma, heparin plasma, and urine. This method is simple, rapid, and suitable for clinical practice, with good stability and applicability to multiple human matrices.

Rifampicin Induces Gene, Protein, and Activity of P-Glycoprotein (ABCB1) in Human Precision-Cut Intestinal Slices

Ondrej Martinec et al.

Summary: This study utilized human precision-cut intestinal slices (hPCISs) to investigate the induction of functional expression of ABCB1 by rifampicin. Results demonstrated that rifampicin significantly increased gene expression, protein levels, and efflux activity of ABCB1 in hPCISs, suggesting the potential value of hPCISs in evaluating drugs' ABCB1-inducing potency in the human intestine.
