Complete mitochondrial genomes of Conogethes punctiferalis and C. pinicolalis (Lepidoptera: Crambidae): Genomic comparison and phylogenetic inference in Pyraloidea

Na Ra Jeong et al.

Summary: The study compared the mitochondrial genomes of Conogethes punctiferalis and Conogethes pinicolalis, finding significant divergence in protein-coding genes and rRNA genes, not supporting hybridization between the two species. Phylogenetic analysis supported the monophyly of subfamilies in Crambidae and Pyralidae, but low nodal supports were observed due to the limited taxa in the study.

Characterization and Phylogenetic Analysis of the Mitochondrial Genome Sequence of Nisia fuliginosa (Hemiptera: Fulgoroidea: Meenoplidae)

Sha-Sha Lv et al.

Summary: In this study, the mitochondrial genome of Nisia fuliginosa was sequenced and analyzed, making it the first determined mitogenome from the family Meenoplidae. The mitogenome was 15,754 bp long and contained typical features such as ATN start codons and TAA termination codons. Phylogenetic analysis suggested that the eight families of Fulgoroidea could be divided into two major groups, with Meenoplidae and six other families forming a monophyletic group, and Fulgoridae located near the Meenoplidae clade.

Mitochondrial Genomes of Hestina persimilis and Hestinalis nama (Lepidoptera, Nymphalidae): Genome Description and Phylogenetic Implications

Yupeng Wu et al.

Summary: In this study, the mitogenomes of Hestina persimilis and Hestinalis nama were obtained via sanger sequencing. Comparative analysis revealed that these two mitogenomes are highly conservative and share a close evolutionary relationship. Phylogenetic trees built upon the mitogenomic data show consistent relationships among Nymphalidae, with Hestinalis nama being closely related to Apatura and forming a monophyletic clade.
