Digestive system ontogeny and the effects of weaning time on larval survival, growth and pigmentation development of orchid dottyback Pseudochromis fridmani

Jun Yu Chen et al.

Summary: Understanding the ontogeny of digestive system development in P. fridmani larvae is crucial for optimizing weaning success. Weaning onto formulated feed as early as 20 DPH could lead to improved growth and pigmentation development in the larvae.

Effects of soya lecithin addition on the growth, antioxidant capacity, gonad development and nutritional quality of adult sea urchin (Strongylocentrotus intermedius)

Feng Zhang et al.

Summary: This study investigates the effects of soya lecithin (SL) addition on the growth, antioxidant capacity, gonad development, and nutritional quality of adult sea urchin. The results show that a low dosage of SL promotes gonad development and antioxidant capacity, while a high dosage decreases growth and gonad development. Additionally, fish oil (FO) and palm oil (PO) based feeds have comparable effects on growth and gonad development.

Dietary DHA and ARA level and ratio affect the occurrence of skeletal anomalies in pikeperch larvae (Sander lucioperca) through a regulation of immunity and stress related gene expression

Najlae El Kertaoui et al.

Summary: This study investigated the effects of different dietary DHA and ARA levels on pikeperch larval development, performance, digestive capacity, fatty acid composition, skeleton anomalies, and molecular markers. Changes in dietary fatty acids did not affect growth performance but influenced enzymatic activities and gene expressions related to stress response and lipid metabolism. Results suggested a significant association between tissue levels of ARA and DHA with immune/stress gene regulation and skeleton development.

Intestinal Phospholipid Disequilibrium Initiates an ER Stress Response That Drives Goblet Cell Necroptosis and Spontaneous Colitis in Mice

John P. Kennelly et al.

Summary: The study found that the loss of CT alpha in intestinal epithelial cells leads to decreased colonic PC concentrations and rapid, spontaneous colitis development in adult mice, which is linked to an endoplasmic reticulum stress response. These results highlight the crucial role of IEC phospholipid equilibrium in colonic homeostasis.
