In-field detection method for imidacloprid by surface enhanced Raman spectroscopy

Andrea Hermsen et al.

Summary: A method for fast on-site identification of imidacloprid was developed using a handheld Raman spectrometer and surface enhanced Raman spectroscopy, comparing the effects of gold nanoparticles in solution and on textile support. Addition of hydrochloric acid in solution and PLA as a solid support were found to provide the best amplification of imidacloprid signals and sensitivity, making them suitable for fieldable pesticide identification. Based on spectral analysis, a proposal for the imidacloprid-gold surface geometry was derived.

Nylon membranes modified by gold nanoparticles as surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy substrates for several pesticides detection

Haitao Yu et al.

Summary: A simple SERS strategy using nylon membranes and gold nanoparticles was proposed to improve the repeatability of SERS analysis for detecting trace compounds. The prepared substrates showed good parallelism and a low limit of detection, making them suitable for detecting pesticides with high sensitivity. Modifying nylon membrane substrates with gold nanoparticles enhances the reproducibility and commercial potential of SERS technology.
