Exploiting limited players' behavioral data to predict churn in gamification

Enrica Loria et al.

Summary: The number of users engaged in a system determines its value, and timely detection of churners can lead to successful applications in gamification. This study found that using players' in-game activity data can successfully predict churn, showing that players' likelihood of abandoning the game is proportional to their time investment in the game and gamified system.

CLSA: A novel deep learning model for MOOC dropout prediction

Qian Fu et al.

Summary: MOOCs have attracted hundreds of millions of learners, but the high dropout rates hinder their further progress. A research proposes the CLSA model to predict dropout rates based on learners' behavior data, which achieved higher accuracy and Fl-score than previous models when tested on the KDD CUP 2015 dataset.
