Berry Phase Engineering in SrRuO3/SrIrO3/SrTiO3 Superlattices Induced by Band Structure Reconstruction

Dongxing Zheng et al.

Summary: This study observed a sign change of Berry curvatures at the interface between the ferromagnet SrRuO3 layer and the SrIrO3 layer with strong spin-orbit coupling, leading to the appearance of a hump-like feature in the Hall resistivity loop.

Post-synthesis control of Berry phase driven magnetotransport in SrRuO3 films

E. Skoropata et al.

Summary: Controlling electronic band structure allows for manipulation of spin-polarized bands in ferromagnetic materials, providing the ability to control the intrinsic anomalous Hall effect. In this study, depth-dependent magnetic inhomogeneity in a 4d itinerant ferromagnet film was controlled through low energy He ion irradiation, demonstrating the continuous and iterative modification of Berry phase and associated AHE post-synthesis.
