In-situ construction of metallic Ni3C@Ni core-shell cocatalysts over g-C3N4 nanosheets for shell-thickness-dependent photocatalytic H2 production

Rongchen Shen et al.

Summary: The shell-thickness-controlled Ni3C@Ni/g-C3N4 photocatalysts were designed with intimate Schottky junctions using an in situ high-temperature transformation strategy. Optimized Ni shell-layer thickness of 15 nm achieved the best visible-light photocatalytic H2-production performance. The intimate Schottky-junctions hinder rapid charge recombination, increase reactive sites, and boost catalytic kinetics, leading to shellthickness-dependent hydrogen evolution.

An Experimentally Verified LC-MS Protocol toward an Economical, Reliable, and Quantitative Isotopic Analysis in Nitrogen Reduction Reactions

Sandra Elizabeth Saji et al.

Summary: Various labile techniques have emerged to substitute the energy-intensive Haber-Bosch process for ammonia synthesis, with isotopic labeling studies being a reliable control strategy. Liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS) is widely used for detecting ammonia in water electrolyte systems, but there is a need for a safer, reproducible, and cost-effective protocol for N-15 isotopic analysis.

One-step hydrothermal synthesis of S-defect-controlled ZnIn2S4 microflowers with improved kinetics process of charge-carriers for photocatalytic H2 evolution

Xuedong Jing et al.

Summary: Modulating the lattice S-content of ZnIn2S4 microflowers through a one-step method can enhance the separation and migration processes of photoinduced charge-carriers, leading to improved solar-to-fuels conversion efficiency. The optimized ZnIn2S4 microflowers exhibit long-lived photoinduced electrons under visible light irradiation, contributing to both photo-physical and -chemical processes.
