Clinical impact of Fn-induced high expression of KIR2DL1 in CD8 T lymphocytes in oesophageal squamous cell carcinoma

Xiaopeng Wang et al.

Summary: Fn infection is significantly correlated with high KIR2DL1 expression on CD8(+) T cells, leading to poor tumor differentiation, advanced clinical stage, and short survival time in ESCC patients. Fn infection and CD8(+)KIR2DL1 positive group are independent risk factors affecting the prognosis of ESCC patients.

Clinical significance and prognostic value of Porphyromonas gingivalis infection in lung cancer

Yiwen Liu et al.

Summary: Various pathogenic microorganisms can facilitate the occurrence and progression of malignant tumors by colonizing in the body. Research has shown a correlation between P. gingivalis colonization and esophageal cancer, as well as a potential role in promoting lung cancer progression. P. gingivalis infection is associated with smoking, drinking, lymph node metastasis, and advanced clinical stages in lung cancer patients, leading to poorer survival outcomes.

Targeting tumor-derived NLRP3 reduces melanoma progression by limiting MDSCs expansion

Isak W. Tengesdal et al.

Summary: NLRP3 inflammasome activation in melanoma promotes tumor growth and progression while suppressing immune response. Inhibiting NLRP3 can reduce the expansion of MDSCs, enhance antitumor immunity, and slow down tumor growth.

Effect of aerobic exercise on acquired gefitinib resistance in lung adenocarcinoma

Hong Yang et al.

Summary: Patients with lung adenocarcinoma and EGFR-activating mutations exhibit good response to tyrosine kinase inhibitors but often develop resistance. Cancer stem cells (CSCs) play a crucial role in tumor initiation, invasion, and treatment response. Aerobic exercise can reduce oxidative stress, inhibit HIF-1 and ALDH1, and decrease CSCs, potentially enhancing the sensitivity of drug-resistant cells to gefitinib in lung adenocarcinoma treatment.

Associations of Porphyromonas gingivalis Infection and Low Beclin1 Expression With Clinicopathological Parameters and Survival of Esophageal Squamous Cell Carcinoma Patients

Yibo Guo et al.

Summary: The study found a negative correlation between P. gingivalis infection and Beclin1 expression in ESCC tissues, and both were associated with differentiation status, tumor invasion depth, lymph node metastasis, clinical stage, and prognosis in ESCC patients. In vitro experiments confirmed that P. gingivalis infection and Beclin1 downregulation enhanced the proliferation, migration, and antiapoptotic abilities of ESCC cells. These findings suggest that targeting P. gingivalis colonization and restoring Beclin1 expression may provide new insights for prevention and treatment of ESCC.

Clinical Significance of Fusobacterium nucleatum Infection and Regulatory T Cell Enrichment in Esophageal Squamous Cell Carcinoma

Ning Zhang et al.

Summary: Various pathogenic microorganisms promote tumor occurrence and development by colonizing the body long-term, with F. nucleatum infection facilitating immune escape of tumor cells through Tregs enrichment and promoting malignant progression of ESCC.
