Value of Gd-EOB-DTPA-Enhanced MRI and Diffusion-Weighted Imaging in Detecting Residual Hepatocellular Carcinoma After Drug-Eluting Bead Transarterial Chemoembolization

Hai-Feng Liu et al.

Summary: The study found that Gd-EOB-DTPA enhanced MRI is superior to DWI in diagnosing residual HCCs after DEB-TACE. Arterial hypervascularity and DWI hyperintensity are important imaging features in distinguishing residual HCCs from necrotic tumors.

Diagnostic performance of Liver Imaging Reporting and Data System treatment response algorithm: a systematic review and meta-analysis

Seo Yeon Youn et al.

Summary: The study systematically evaluated the accuracy of the LR-TR algorithm in diagnosing the viability of HCC after locoregional therapy, finding high specificity but suboptimal sensitivity. Substantial study heterogeneity was noted, with the type of reference standard and study design significantly associated with study heterogeneity.

Diagnostic accuracy of Liver Imaging Reporting and Data System locoregional treatment response criteria: a systematic review and meta-analysis

Pankaj Gupta et al.

Summary: The study evaluated the diagnostic accuracy of LI-RADS LR-TR criteria in diagnosing viable tumors after locoregional therapies, finding that it has acceptable performance in this aspect. However, further well-designed prospective studies are needed to evaluate criteria for equivocal lesions and the impact of different locoregional therapies.

L -RADS Version 2018 Treatment Response Algorithm Diagnostic Performance after Transarterial Radioembolization for Hepatocellular Carcinoma

Jongjin Yoon et al.

Summary: This study assessed the diagnostic performance of the LI-RADS version 2018 treatment response algorithm (TRA) for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) treated with transarterial radioembolization. The study showed that LI-RADS treatment response (LR-TR) categories can be used to predict the histopathologic viability of HCCs treated with transarterial radioembolization, with good sensitivity and specificity. Interreader agreement for the LR-TR category was also found to be high.
