Radioactive nano-oxygen generator enhance anti-tumor radio-immunotherapy by regulating tumor microenvironment and reducing proliferation

Pei Pei et al.

Summary: In this study, a radioactive nano-oxygen generator was successfully constructed, which can achieve efficient radioisotope labeling and overcome the limitation of oxygen dependence in internal radioisotope therapy. This nano-oxygen generator can enhance the infiltration of cytotoxic T cells in distant tumors, reduce tumor metastasis, and inhibit cancer cell proliferation by affecting the metabolism of tumor cells and regulatory T cells.

Manganese-Dioxide-Coating-Instructed Plasmonic Modulation of Gold Nanorods for Activatable Duplex-Imaging-Guided NIR-II Photothermal-Chemodynamic Therapy

Ting He et al.

Summary: A plasmonic modulation strategy of gold nanorods through manganese dioxide coating has been developed for NIR-II photoacoustic/magnetic resonance imaging-guided photothermal chemodynamic therapy. The LSPR peak of gold nanorods can be tuned by adjusting the thickness of the MnO2 layer, and the MnO2 layer can degrade in the tumor microenvironment for MR imaging and chemodynamic therapy. This strategy can be applied to other metal nanomaterials for construction of a new class of NIR-II nanotheranostics.

Cancer stem cell-immune cell crosstalk in tumour progression

Defne Bayik et al.

Summary: The development of tumors is affected by cellular heterogeneity and an immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment, which interact with each other and lead to therapeutic resistance. The interaction between cancer stem cells and infiltrating immune cell populations in the tumor microenvironment promotes tumor development and immune evasion.
