All nitride asymmetric supercapacitors of niobium titanium nitride-vanadium nitride

Binbin Wei et al.

Summary: Metal nitrides are considered potential electrode materials for supercapacitors due to their high conductivity, capacitance, and corrosion resistance. A general strategy to prepare self-standing bimetallic nitride thin film nanostructures has been presented, enhancing their electrochemical performance. The synergy of different metal nitrides in bimetallic structures greatly improves capacitive performance and cycling stability, demonstrating the possibility of constructing high-performance asymmetric supercapacitors.

High-temperature treatments of niobium under high vacuum, dilute air- and nitrogen-atmospheres as investigated by in situ X-ray absorption spectroscopy

Jonas Klaes et al.

Summary: Niobium metal foils were heat-treated under different conditions to mimic typical heat treatments for superconducting applications. While vacuum annealing preserved the original structure, treatments in dilute air atmospheres showed linear oxidation. Exposure to dilute nitrogen atmospheres induced structural changes, but no evidence of niobium nitride formation was found.

High-Capacity and Kinetically Accelerated Lithium Storage in MoO3 Enabled by Oxygen Vacancies and Heterostructure

Yingying Zhang et al.

Summary: The MoO3-x/MXene heterostructure, fabricated by introducing oxygen vacancies and MXene nanosheets, exhibits excellent lithium-ion storage performances due to accelerated ion diffusion kinetics, enhanced electrical conductivity, and additional active sites induced by oxygen vacancies as well as robust interfacial contact. This composite shows a high reversible capacity of 1258 mAh g(-1) at 0.1 A g(-1) for Li-ion storage and retains 474 mAh g(-1) at 10 A g(-1), remarkably higher than previously reported MoO3-based anode materials. The composite also achieves an unparalleled energy density of 330 Wh kg(-1) when assembled with commercial LiFePO4 into a full LIB.
