Key principles and methods for studying the endocytosis of biological and nanoparticle therapeutics

Joshua J. Rennick et al.

Summary: Endocytosis is crucial for the cellular uptake of therapeutic nanomedicines, but current understanding and study of these mechanisms are limited. The use of nonspecific inhibitors presents challenges, and alternative genetic approaches may offer more robust insights into endocytic pathways. Future studies at the intersection of cell biology and nanomedicine are needed to improve nanoparticle therapies.

Accurate simulation of surfaces and interfaces of ten FCC metals and steel using Lennard-Jones potentials

Krishan Kanhaiya et al.

Summary: The introduction of new Lennard-Jones parameters for simulating a wider range of fcc metals in this study enables accurate reproduction of physical properties such as lattice constants, surface energies, and water interfacial energies in experiments. These parameters are compatible with various force fields, potentially offering reliable simulations of nanostructures with millions of atoms.

Accurate and Compatible Force Fields for Molecular Oxygen, Nitrogen, and Hydrogen to Simulate Gases, Electrolytes, and Heterogeneous Interfaces

Shiyi Wang et al.

Summary: New force field parameters for molecular oxygen, nitrogen, and hydrogen were introduced to reduce deviations in molecular simulations to <5%. Impressive agreement with experiments was achieved for computed properties such as bond lengths, Raman peaks, liquid densities, vaporization enthalpies, and free energies of hydration. The parametrization protocol demonstrated compatibility with various simulation methods and showed <5% deviation in adsorption energies for gases in experiments.
