Homogeneously Mixing Different Metal-Organic Framework Structures in Solid Solutions

Ming Xu et al.

Summary: This study demonstrates a metal-organic framework (MOF) solid solution (MOSS) strategy to homogeneously mix NU-1000 and NU-901 structures inside single MOF nanocrystals. The MOSS nanocrystals show high separation abilities and unique elution sequence due to the well-tuned pore ratio.

Highly Stable Zr(IV)-Based Metal-Organic Frameworks for Chiral Separation in Reversed-Phase Liquid Chromatography

Hong Jiang et al.

Summary: This study demonstrates that highly stable Zr-based MOFs can be efficient CSPs for RP-HPLC. By designing and synthesizing three chiral porous Zr(IV)-MOFs with chiral crown ether moieties aligned within framework channels, they show excellent tolerance to water, acid, and base. Under acidic eluent conditions, Zr-MOF-packed HPLC columns provide high resolution, selectivity, and durability for the separation of various racemates.

Metal-Organic Frameworks for Practical Separation of Cyclic and Linear Polymers

Taku Sawayama et al.

Summary: A new polymer separation methodology that uses metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) to differentiate between linear and cyclic polyethylene glycols (PEGs) was reported, allowing successful isolation of gram-scale PEGs with only cyclic structures from crude reaction mixtures using MOF as an adsorbent.
