Carboxyethyl acrylate incorporated optically clear adhesives with outstanding adhesion strength and immediate strain recoverability for stretchable electronics

Daegyun Lim et al.

Summary: In this study, UV curable acrylate-based pressure-sensitive adhesives (PSAs) with exceptionally strong peel adhesion and good flexibility were synthesized. The synthesized films also had adequate transmittance to be used as an optically clear adhesive. By implementing a pre-straining strategy, the PSAs exhibited purely elastic characteristic with instantaneous strain recovery and were able to withstand 5000 cycles of repetitive stretching and bending tests.

Optimizing interactions between soluble silk fibroin and capryl glucoside for design of a natural and high-performance co-surfactant system

Rose Maxwell et al.

Summary: Silk fibroin in combination with capryl glucoside exhibits synergistic surface-active behavior, resulting in a natural and effective co-surfactant system with superior surface tension properties compared to synthetic surfactants. This system enhances foam quality and cleansing properties, making it ideal for formulating cleansers and shampoos.

Highly Thermal-Wet Comfortable and Conformal Silk-Based Electrodes for On-Skin Sensors with Sweat Tolerance

Qingsong Li et al.

Summary: A highly thermal-wet comfortable and conformal silk-based electrode has been developed for on-skin electrophysiological measurement under sweaty conditions. The electrode shows high stretchability, low thermal insulation, low evaporative resistance, and high water-vapor transmission rate, enabling better electrocardiography signal quality and the possibility for textile integration to monitor muscle activities under large deformation. This glycerol-plasticized silk-based electrode may further advance on-skin electronics with sweat tolerance.
