Are you using the right probe molecules for assessing the textural properties of metal-organic frameworks?

Timur Islamoglu et al.

Summary: This study focuses on exploring the textural properties of metal-organic frameworks (MOFs), a type of porous materials. By using various gases to examine the surface area, pore size distribution, and pore volume of a series of MOFs, researchers are provided with guidance and reference.

Product Inhibition and the Catalytic Destruction of a Nerve Agent Simulant by Zirconium-Based Metal-Organic Frameworks

Yijun Liao et al.

Summary: This study investigates the effects of product inhibition on catalytic activity in the degradation of chemical warfare agents, particularly those containing a phosphorous-fluorine bond. Results indicate substantial product inhibition on catalyst activity after several turnovers, with apparent product binding constants obtained to quantitatively describe the inhibition effects over time. The study highlights the importance of understanding product inhibition in the catalytic hydrolysis of chemical warfare agents.
