The role of the HIF-1α/ALYREF/PKM2 axis in glycolysis and tumorigenesis of bladder cancer

Jing-Zi Wang et al.

Summary: This study demonstrated that ALYREF stabilizes PKM2 mRNA and binds to its m5C sites in bladder cancer, promoting cell proliferation. High expressions of PKM2 and ALYREF predict poor prognosis in bladder cancer patients. Additionally, HIF-1alpha indirectly upregulates PKM2 expression by activating ALYREF, suggesting a promising therapeutic target for bladder cancer.

Metabolic networks in mutant KRAS-driven tumours: tissue specificities and the microenvironment

Samuel A. Kerk et al.

Summary: Mutant KRAS drives common metabolic programmes in colon, lung, and pancreatic tumors, but its impact is also influenced by tumor suppressor losses and specific physiological features of cells and tissues.
