Assessment of primary outcome measures for a clinical trial of pediatric hemorrhagic injuries

Daniel K. Nishijima et al.

Summary: Most participants agreed with using the Pediatric Quality of Life Inventory (PedsQL) as the primary outcome for children with hemorrhagic brain injuries in the pediatric hemorrhagic trauma trial. However, opinions were divided when it came to children with hemorrhagic torso injuries. Some clinicians favored using intracranial hemorrhage progression or blood product transfusion requirements as more objective alternative primary outcomes.
