Evaluation of esophageal motor function in patients with gastroesophageal reflux using multiple rapid swallows

Summary: This study evaluated MRS findings in GERD patients with normal peristalsis and minor motility disorders. It found that patients with minor motility disorders were more likely to have poor peristaltic reserve, and there was significant discordance in the inhibition phase of MRS on repetitive testing.

Validation and psychometric evaluation of the Spanish version of Brief Esophageal Dysphagia Questionnaire (BEDQ): Results of a multicentric study

Summary: This study translated and validated a Spanish version of BEDQ and evaluated its psychometric properties in a large sample of Hispanic individuals. The Spanish BEDQ showed excellent reliability and was found to have a unidimensional character. It demonstrated moderate significant correlations with other symptomatic scores and showed sensitivity and specificity for obstructive or major manometric diagnosis.
