Kinetin modulates physiological and biochemical attributes of Vigna radiata L. seedlings exposed to 2-benzoxazolinone stress

Niharika et al.

Summary: Cytokinins play a crucial role in influencing plant metabolic and adaptive mechanisms under adversity. The study showed that kinetin (KN) can ameliorate the damaging effects of allelochemical 2-benzoxazolinone (BOA) on Vigna radiata seedlings. KN supplementation helped in growth restoration by reducing oxidative stress and improving membrane stability, enhancing antioxidant enzyme activity and total phenolic content in the seedlings.
