Thermal effects of nonuniform heating in a nanofluid-filled annulus: Buoyant transport versus entropy generation

M. Sankar et al.

Summary: This paper investigates the numerical aspects of buoyant convection and entropy generation of Al2O3-water nanofluid in a vertical annular configuration, exploring how specific parameters can enhance thermal transport while minimizing entropy production. The study suggests that phase deviation and amplitude ratio play critical roles in influencing thermal transport and entropy generation in comparison to other parameters.

Buoyant convective flow of different hybrid nanoliquids in a non-uniformly heated annulus

N. Keerthi Reddy et al.

Summary: This study investigates the effect of axially varying temperature with sinusoidal thermal profiles on an annular enclosure containing different hybrid nanoliquids. Numerical simulations show that the buoyant motion and thermal dissipation rate can be effectively controlled by proper selection of phase deviation and combination of nanoparticles. The aim is to enhance the thermal transport by identifying suitable nanoparticle combinations and geometrical parameters.

Conjugate buoyant convective transport of nanofluids in an enclosed annular geometry

M. Sankar et al.

Summary: This study systematically investigated a vertical annular configuration with differently heated cylindrical surfaces and horizontal adiabatic boundaries, focusing on the effects of buoyant heat transport in water based nanofluids with different nanoparticles. The results showed that wall thickness significantly influences thermal dissipation rate, while the choice and concentration of nanoparticles play a key role in enhancing thermal transport along the interface. Among the nanoparticles studied, copper based nanofluids demonstrated higher heat transport and increased thermal dissipation as the nanoparticle volume fraction increased.

ASSESSMENT OF ENTROPY GENERATION AND HEAT TRANSFER IN THREE-DIMENSIONAL HYBRID NANOFLUIDS FLOW DUE TO CONVECTIVE SURFACE AND BASE FLUIDS

Himanshu Upreti et al.

Summary: This study investigates the entropy generation of hybrid nanofluids flow on a porous stretching surface under the influence of thermal radiation, viscous dissipation, and convective boundary conditions. The investigation reveals the patterns of velocities/temperature, Nusselt and Bejan numbers, and entropy generation in relation to various parameters, using the Xue model of thermal conductivity for nanofluids. The comparison of different hybrid nanofluids with thermal profiles shows that the CNT-engine oil hybrid nanofluid exhibits more significant behavior near the surface compared to other hybrid nanofluids.
