Negotiating inclusion of gender and sexual diversity through a process of feminist translation in Quebec

Summary: The use of feminist inclusive writing in French is aimed at giving more visibility to women, while a recent trend towards neutral writing seeks to neutralize gender discrimination in the French language. This case study shows how the translation process can prompt a rethinking of linguistic practices around gender.
