Hemangiomas are common tumors characterized by massive proliferation of blood vessels, often present at birth and becoming more apparent throughout life. Rarely seen in the oral cavity, especially those associated with palatal mucosa. This case report presents a rare capillary hemangioma of palatal mucosa in a 2-month-old infant.
Hemangiomas are common tumors characterized microscopically by massive proliferation of blood vessels predominantly blood capillaries. The congenital hemangioma is often present at birth and may become more apparent throughout life. They are probably developmental rather than neoplastic in origin. Although they are seen in head and neck, they are rarely reported in the oral cavity, especially those associated to palatal mucosa. This case report presents a case of a rare capillary hemangioma of palatal mucosa in a 2 months old infant.
