We present a case of a girl with new-onset type 1 diabetes, who experienced severe diabetic ketoacidosis accompanied by profound hypokalemia and hypernatremia. The clinical course, management challenges, and the potential impact of concomitant COVID-19 infection in complicating this case are described.
We report a case of new-onset type 1 diabetes in a girl presenting with severe diabetic ketoacidosis, complicated by profound hypokalemia and hypernatremia.
