Supply chain coordination under nonlinear cap and trade carbon emission function and demand uncertainty

Jafar Heydari et al.

Summary: This study investigates the alignment of interests between small and medium-sized manufacturing enterprises (SMMEs) and raw material suppliers in a manufacturing supply chain (MSC), developing a revenue-sharing contract for coordination and optimization of profitability and sustainability. The findings show that while the centralized model benefits the MSC, it may result in losses for SMMEs; however, the revenue-sharing agreement creates coordination, improves sustainability levels, and progresses towards sustainable economic development goals.

Dynamic channel control and pricing of a single perishable product on multiple distribution channels

Boqian Song et al.

Summary: This study examines the impact of dynamic channel control and pricing on the distribution of a single perishable product through multiple channels, using stylized linear functions and two types of commissions to analyze dependent demand flows from different channels. It is found that the magnitude of the opportunity cost of capacity uniquely determines the optimal channel control strategy and pricing decisions.

Balancing price and green quality in presence of consumer environmental awareness: a green supply chain coordination approach

Jafar Heydari et al.

Summary: This study addresses the green channel coordination problem in a two-echelon supply chain by introducing the HGRS contract, which leads to increased profits for both parties and customer satisfaction. The contract also enhances the product's green quality, reduces the selling price, and stimulates market demand.

Competition in dual-channel supply chains: The manufacturers' channel selection

Yumeng Zhang et al.

Summary: This study examines the role of different channel strategies in competitive environments by analyzing a manufacturer's channel selection decision model. The results show that a manufacturer's channel preference is influenced by consumers' channel preferences, channel operating costs, and the actions of competitors.

Build or join a sharing platform? The choice of manufacturer's sharing mode

Yu Zhang et al.

Summary: In the face of the rise of the sharing economy, traditional manufacturers are providing product sharing services through two modes: self-built and joined. The optimal choice of sharing mode is influenced by factors such as commission rate, consumers' inconvenient cost, marginal cost, and consumer preferences towards renting products. Manufacturers are more likely to join a third-party sharing platform as the proportion of consumers who prefer to rent their products increases.

Mean-variance analysis of wholesale price contracts with a capital-constrained retailer: Trade credit financing vs. bank credit financing

Honglin Yang et al.

Summary: This study examines wholesale price contracts in a supply chain with risk constraints, analyzing decisions related to contract design under trade credit and bank credit financing. The research highlights the role of risk aversion in determining financing equilibrium and suggests that trade credit financing can lead to a win-win outcome under moderate risk aversion thresholds.

Decisions and Coordination in E-Commerce Supply Chain under Logistics Outsourcing and Altruistic Preferences

Yuyan Wang et al.

Summary: This paper examines the impact of altruistic preferences in the electronic commerce supply chain on decision-making, proposing a joint fixed-cost contract to maximize system efficiency. Findings are validated through numerical analysis, revealing unique characteristics of ESC not found in dual-channel or traditional supply chains.

Supply Chain Coordination with a Risk-Averse Retailer and the Call Option Contract in the Presence of a Service Requirement

Han Zhao et al.

Summary: This paper investigates a supply chain with a risk-neutral supplier and a risk-averse retailer, analyzing the effects of service level and risk aversion on the optimal ordering and production quantities. The results show that the retailer's optimal Conditional Value-at-Risk is influenced by the service requirement and risk aversion, while the supplier's optimal profit is affected by service level and risk aversion. The study also explores the impact of contract parameters on the supply chain and derives a coordination condition for Pareto improvement under the Conditional Value-at-Risk criterion.
