The time-varying networks of the wrist extension in post-stroke hemiplegic patients

Summary: This study utilized high-temporal-resolution EEG data to investigate the dynamic network deficits in post-stroke hemiplegic patients during wrist extension. Results showed decreased effective connectivity between the stroked motor area and other areas in patients compared to healthy controls, while enhanced connectivity between non-stroked motor areas and other areas, especially the frontal and parietal-occipital lobes, was identified. These findings provide insights into the mechanism underlying patients' motor behaviors and may contribute to the development of real-time strategies for clinical therapy and reliable biomarkers for predicting future rehabilitation in brain stroke patients.
