Summary: This study proposed an integrative model to examine the perceived impacts of cross-border mega-infrastructure development within the China-Pakistan economic corridor (CPEC) based on Butlers' Tourism Area Life Cycle (TALC) model and stakeholder theory. The findings indicated that residents' perceptions of CPEC benefits positively influenced their perceived destination image (RPDI) and pro-tourism development behavior (PTDB). Furthermore, the study found that residents' perceived costs of CPEC had a positive impact on RPDI but a negative relationship with PTDB, with RPDI partially mediating between perceived CPEC benefits and PTDB and fully mediating between perceived CPEC costs and PTDB.
