Brief Psychotic Disorder During the National Lockdown in Italy: An Emerging Clinical Phenomenon of the COVID-19 Pandemic

Summary: Six cases of first-episode psychosis admitted during the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown showed intense religious/spiritual delusions and hallucinatory content. Some patients had somatic delusions but tested negative for the virus. Low-dose antipsychotic treatment led to rapid discharge, symptom remission, and satisfactory insight.
