Geographies of qualification in the global fine wine market

Gerhard Rainer

Summary: This paper aims to introduce the conceptualization of qualification processes in recent pragmatism-inspired, process-oriented social science contributions, and explore the value of studying product qualification in status/aesthetic markets from a geographical perspective. Through empirical research on the global fine wine market, it reveals the dynamic impact of the trend towards aestheticization of consumer products on product qualification.
