Consumption-based carbon emissions, renewable energy consumption, financial development and economic growth in Chile

Dervis Kirikkaleli et al.

Summary: This study found that financial development and renewable energy consumption reduce consumption-based CO2 emissions in Chile, while economic growth and electricity consumption increase carbon emissions. Encouraging research and development of low-carbon technologies and renewable energy investments, while reducing consumption of nonrenewable energy sources, should be a focus for policymakers.

Significance of nonlinear thermal radiation in 3D Eyring-Powell nanofluid flow with Arrhenius activation energy

Taseer Muhammad et al.

Summary: This paper investigates a mathematical analysis of three-dimensional Eyring-Powell nanofluid nonlinear thermal radiation with modified heat plus mass fluxes. The slip condition is introduced to enhance the dynamical and physical study of structure, and a Riga plate is employed to diminish the friction and pressure drag of submarines. The Cattaneo-Christov heat flux model is used to evaluate heat transfer, and comparisons between bvp4c results and shooting technique are made with graphical and numerical illustrations for prominent parameters.

The effects of regional trade integration and renewable energy transition on environmental quality: Evidence from South Asian neighbors

Muntasir Murshed et al.

Summary: Improving environmental quality is a top priority for South Asian governments, with a focus on the impact of trade integration and renewable energy transition on reducing carbon emissions. The results show that facilitating trade and increasing renewable energy use can effectively reduce carbon dioxide emissions in the short and long term, while also supporting the environmental Kuznets curve hypothesis.

Oil price shocks and energy consumption in GCC countries: a system-GMM approach

Mohammad Imdadul Haque

Summary: The study reveals a significant correlation between energy consumption and indicators such as crude oil prices, GDP per capita, carbon dioxide emissions, trade, and population growth. Oil price shocks have a negative impact on energy consumption, while an increase in GDP per capita has a positive effect. Additionally, high energy consumption leads to higher carbon dioxide emissions.

Does fiscal decentralization and eco-innovation promote renewable energy consumption? Analyzing the role of political risk

Chi-Wei Su et al.

Summary: The study demonstrates that fiscal decentralization and eco-innovation promote renewable energy consumption and lower non-renewable energy use, while the improvement of the political risk index and the increase in R&D in renewable energy also drive renewable energy consumption. The recommendation to transfer power to local governments could enhance energy efficiency and shift energy mix towards more sustainable sources, reducing the reliance on non-renewable energy sources.

Carbon emission effect of renewable energy utilization, fiscal development, and foreign direct investment in South Africa

Daberechi Chikezie Ekwueme et al.

Summary: The study in South Africa shows significant correlations among renewable energy, economic growth, financial development, and CO2 emissions, with positive correlations in the long term and mixed correlations in the short term. Granger causality results demonstrate bidirectional stimulus from renewable energy to economic growth, as well as causal relationships among other variables. Recommendations include enhancing energy efficiency programs and aligning them with macroeconomic and financial variables to reduce CO2 emissions and achieve environmental sustainability.

Do renewable energy consumption and financial development matter for environmental sustainability? New global evidence

Dervis Kirikkaleli et al.

Summary: This study examines the long-term effects of financial development and renewable energy consumption on environmental sustainability within the global framework, finding that both factors have a significant positive impact on environmental sustainability in the long run, while economic growth may lead to increased carbon emissions globally. The study recommends that global policymakers consider the roles of renewable energy and financial development in order to improve environmental quality by implementing energy policy reforms in both developed and developing countries.

Muhammad Awais Baloch et al.

Summary: This study explores the relationship between financial development, economic growth, energy innovation, and environmental pollution. The empirical evidence suggests that financial development promotes energy innovation and improves environmental quality, while globalization is also related to energy innovation and reducing greenhouse gas emissions over the long term. The findings validate the environmental Kuznets curve for OECD countries, highlighting the significance of financial development, globalization, and energy innovation.
