PROBLEMS OF COGNITIVE STRATEGIES AND EMOTIONAL REGULATION OF TEACHERS IN MODERN EDUCATION

Rashid Jabbarov et al.

Summary: This article examines the manifestations of cognitive strategies and emotional regulation among teachers. The study involves 64 teachers with different academic backgrounds and teaching at different faculties. The findings suggest that age plays a role in shaping cognitive strategies and emotional self-regulation of teachers. Cognitive strategies and expressive suppression of emotions are associated with different qualities of teachers. Adequate self-regulation of emotion is more significantly related to cognitive strategy than expressive suppression. The study also reveals correlations between cognitive reappraisal and personality traits, as well as emotional intelligence and resilience among teachers.

Operationalisation of ecosystem services in support of ecosystem-based marine spatial planning: insights into needs and recommendations

Ibon Galparsoro et al.

Summary: Marine spatial planning (MSP) aims to ensure efficient and sustainable human activities at sea, with the ecosystem service (ES) concept emerging as a potential supporting framework. However, due to the complexity of the marine realm, mapping and assessment of ES is still in its early stages and further development and agreement is needed to support MSP.

Current and projected global extent of marine built structures

A. B. Bugnot et al.

Summary: Marine construction is vast and projected to expand further by 2028. While it is one of the most extreme human modifications to global seascapes, its global extent compared to land remains largely unknown. This study provides a global assessment of existing and projected marine construction, serving as a critical baseline for tracking future marine human development.

Evaluation of marine spatial planning requires fit for purpose monitoring strategies

V. Stelzenmueller et al.

Summary: Marine spatial planning (MSP) evaluation is crucial for promoting best practices, adjusting management, and iterative planning, involving essential considerations like defining evaluation objectives, indicators, and stakeholder engagement. Evaluation approaches vary greatly, from formal and structured processes to informal processes based on stakeholder interviews.

Marine spatial planning: Coordinating divergent marine interests

Kjell Grip et al.

Summary: Globally, ecosystem-based marine spatial planning plays a key role in coordinating different authorities to balance the diverse requirements in managing marine areas and space. Ecology sets limits on acceptable human activities and multiple aspects must be considered in the planning process. A more holistic, multi-sectoral, and coordinated approach is needed for successful marine planning and management, challenging traditional sector division and calling for better coordinated marine policies.

Achieving comprehensive integrated ocean management requires normative, applied, and empirical integration

Michelle Voyer et al.

Summary: Our oceans and the communities relying on them are facing diverse threats, such as industrialization, climate change, and pollution. Integrated Ocean Management (IOM) aims to address these threats in a coordinated manner, but the variety of approaches to IOM can hinder its success. The proposed NAE conceptual model categorizes IOM frameworks and identifies gaps in integration, suggesting a way to support more comprehensive ocean governance in the future.

The complex relationships between marine protected areas and marine spatial planning: Towards an analytical framework

Brice Trouillet et al.

Summary: Systems of Marine Spatial Planning (MSP) and Marine Protected Areas (MPAs) are often developed in parallel, but lack integration due to the longer history and established institutional frameworks of marine conservation. However, there are various options available to link these processes more closely together.
