Relationship over reproach: Fostering resilience by embracing a trauma-informed approach to elementary education

Summary: The study examined the impact of trauma on student behavior and learning, as well as the effect of a Trauma-Informed Approach (TIA) on supporting students and improving student functioning. The implementation of a school-wide TIA at the focal school resulted in increased student test scores, decreased emotional dysregulation, improved self-advocacy and confidence, and strengthened relationships.
