Effect of Ethnic Identity on the Relationship Between Acculturation Stress and Abnormal Food Behaviors in Colombian Migrants in Chile

Summary: The study found that ethnic identity plays a mediating role in the relationship between acculturation stress and abnormal eating behaviors in Colombian migrants living in Chile, particularly in terms of social relations and identity issues. Ethnic identity also has a direct and indirect effect on the relationship between citizenship and legality problems, and abnormal behaviors.

Ethnic Identity as a Mediator of the Relationship between Discrimination and Psychological Well-Being in South-South Migrant Populations

Summary: This study analyzed the effect of ethnic identity on the relationship between racial and ethnic discrimination experiences and psychological well-being in Colombian immigrants living in Chile. The results indicated that both racial and ethnic discrimination have negative effects on psychological well-being, with racial discrimination having a greater impact. Additionally, ethnic identity was found to have positive effects on psychological well-being and partially or completely mediated the effects of discrimination on psychological well-being.
