Interchangeability of player movement variables from different athlete tracking systems in professional soccer

Susanne Ellens et al.

Summary: This study assessed the interchangeability between 10-Hz multi-GNSS GPS devices and two optical tracking systems, revealing strong positive correlations and some differences between systems. Equations were provided to allow practitioners to interchange player movement variables with reduced error, enabling the combination and sharing of data captured with different tracking systems for analysis and improvement of training.

The Application of Accelerometer-Derived Moving Averages to Quantify Peak Demands in Basketball: A Comparison of Sample Duration, Playing Role, and Session Type

Jordan L. Fox et al.

Summary: This study compared peak external workload intensities in basketball between different sample durations, session types, and playing roles. Shorter sample durations led to higher peak workload intensities, with starting players showing significantly higher intensities during games compared with training. Starting players also demonstrated higher peak game intensities across all sample durations compared with bench players.
