Do Links Between Personality and Life Outcomes Generalize? Testing the Robustness of Trait-Outcome Associations Across Gender, Age, Ethnicity, and Analytic Approaches

Summary: Most associations between the Big Five personality traits and life outcomes were found to generalize across gender, age, and ethnicity, but controlling for overlap between personality traits significantly reduced the strength of many associations. Several dozen trait-outcome associations were highly generalizable across all analyses, indicating their robustness.
