Effects of chloride ions on the durability and mechanical properties of sea sand concrete incorporating supplementary cementitious materials under an accelerated carbonation condition

Viet Quoc Dang et al.

Summary: The study showed that the presence of chloride ions can enhance the carbonation resistance of concrete and limit the increase in sorptivity caused by carbonation-induced cracks. The mechanical properties of concrete were improved by the presence of chloride ions, regardless of curing ages, replacement materials, or exposure conditions.
