Preparation of PdNPs doped chitosan-based composite hydrogels as highly efficient catalysts for reduction of 4-nitrophenol

Junlin Zhu et al.

Summary: A series of Pd nanoparticle (PdNPs) doped chitosan (CS)-based composite hydrogel catalysts were successfully prepared in this study, showing improved catalytic activity and reusability compared to traditional CS-PdNPs catalysts. Composite hydrogel catalysts containing carbon nanotubes demonstrated the best catalytic performance with the smallest particle size of PdNPs. This work provides new insights for the development of stable and efficient precious metal nanoparticle catalysts for aqueous phase catalysis.
