Influence of First and Second Coordination Environment on Structural Fe(II) Sites in MIL-101 for C-H Bond Activation in Methane

Jenny G. Vitillo et al.

Summary: The study demonstrates that modifying the microenvironment around the divalent iron sites in metal-organic frameworks can modulate their catalytic activity for light alkane oxidation. By varying substituents and their proximity to the active site, the stability and reactivity of the Fe(IV)=O species can be improved to lower energy barriers for methane oxidation to methanol reaction.

Novel microrecycled ZnO nanoparticles decorated macroporous 3D graphene hybrid aerogel for efficient detection of NO2 at room temperature

Kamrul Hassan et al.

Summary: A novel macroporous microrecycled ZnO nanoparticles decorated three-dimensional graphene aerogel hybrid material has been synthesized via an eco-friendly synthetic method. This hybrid structure shows elevated NO2 sensing performance with fast response-recovery time, superior selectivity, and repeatability at room temperature. The improved conductivity and porous structure of graphene, as well as the interaction between p-type graphene and n-type zinc oxide, contribute to the enhanced NO2 sensing properties of this sensor.

Hollow Cu2O nanospheres loaded with MoS2/reduced graphene oxide nanosheets for ppb-level NO2 detection at room temperature

Yanqiao Ding et al.

Summary: This study synthesized ternary MoS2-rGO-Cu2O composites with enhanced ppb-level NO2 sensing characteristics, achieving highest response to 500 ppb NO2 at room temperature compared to pure MoS2 and binary MG15. The synergy of shell-structure, mesoporous, heterojunction construction, and enhanced conductivity contributed to the improved sensing performance of the ternary sensor.
