Self-cleaning loose nanofiltration membranes enabled by photocatalytic Cu-triazolate MOFs for dye/salt separation

Siyu Zhou et al.

Summary: The study demonstrates the potential of using copper-triazolate MOFs for constructing self-cleaning membranes with enhanced water flux and dye rejection properties. The CuTz-1/GO composite membranes exhibit high water permeance, superior dye rejections, low salt rejections, long-term stability, and efficient removal of attached dyes from the membrane surface under visible light irradiation. This work provides a useful guideline for developing nanofiltration membranes with favorable photocatalytic and antimicrobial properties for treating dye wastewater.
