Modelling study on phase equilibria behavior of ionic liquid-based aqueous biphasic systems

Yuqiu Chen et al.

Summary: In this study, the phase equilibria behavior of IL-ABS was predicted using an extended IL database, a popular three-parameter model, and an artificial neural network. The proposed nonlinear ANN-GC model showed promising results in predicting phase equilibria behavior of IL-ABS. Issues governing the phase equilibria behavior of IL-ABS were also discussed for guidance in the design of IL-ABS.

New Predictive Biomarkers for Ovarian Cancer

Ghofraan Abdulsalam Atallah et al.

Summary: Ovarian cancer is often diagnosed in advanced stages due to lack of early symptoms. Surgical debulking and chemotherapy are mainstays of treatment, but chemoresistance is a common issue. Therefore, there is a critical need for identifying new biomarkers to improve diagnosis and prognosis for ovarian cancer.

Ionic liquid-based aqueous biphasic systems as sustainable extraction and separation techniques

Anusha Basaiahgari et al.

Summary: Ionic liquid (IL)-based aqueous biphasic systems (ABSs) have attracted significant interest for extraction and separation of value-added compounds, serving as alternative solvents for non-biocompatible volatile organic compounds. Significant developments have been made in phase constituting components, temperature, pH, and extraction mechanisms in the field of IL-based ABS.

Phase Behavior of Aqueous Biphasic Systems with Choline Alkanoate Ionic Liquids and Phosphate Solutions: The Influence of pH

Paula Berton et al.

Summary: This study investigated aqueous biphasic systems (ABS) composed of choline alkanoate ionic liquids mixed with K3PO4 solutions at different pH values. The ability to form ABS varied with different ILs and pH, with decreasing biphasic regions observed as pH increased. Anion exchange between phases in ABS at neutral pH was also observed.
