Palladium nanoparticles (Pd-NP) were synthesized via silica hard template (SBA-15) assisted method and used as hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) electrocatalyst in electrochemical methanol reformation (ECMR) process. Morphology and electrochemical performances of synthesized Pd-NP were determined by TEM, XRD and cyclic voltammetry method. Membrane electrode assemblies (MEAs) were fabricated using Pd-NP and tested in single ECMR cell. The results show that, the synthesized Pd-NPs can be used as an alternative electrocatalyst for HER in ECMR cell. (C) Copyright 2015, Hydrogen Energy Publications, LLC. Published.by Elsevier Ltd.
