2-(Dimesitylboryl)phenyl-Substituted [2.2]Paracyclophanes Featuring Intense and Sign-Invertible Circularly Polarized Luminescence

Meng-Yuan Zhang et al.

Summary: We have reported a new type of [2.2]paracyclophanes with high fluorescence efficiency and luminescence dissymmetry, showing intense circularly polarized luminescence. The solvent-induced CPL sign inversion is observed in pseudo-meta derivatives due to solvent-dependent excited-state dynamics.

Magnetic Circular Dichroism of Naphthalene Derivatives: A Coupled Cluster Singles and Approximate Doubles and Time-Dependent Density Functional Theory Study

S. Ghidinelli et al.

Summary: UV-vis absorption and magnetic circular dichroism spectra of naphthalene and its derivatives were simulated using CC2 and TD-DFT methods. CC2 simulations showed the best agreement with experimental data. Analysis of electric dipole and magnetic dipole transition moments helped interpret electronic transitions and Faraday B term inversion among naphthalene derivatives.

Axial and helical thermally activated delayed fluorescence bicarbazole emitters: opposite modulation of circularly polarized luminescence through intramolecular charge-transfer dynamics

Patthira Sumsalee et al.

Summary: This report discusses the rationalization of molecular parameters influencing the intensity and sign of circularly polarized luminescence for chiral emitters. Novel chiral donor-acceptor structures based on C-2-symmetric bicarbazole systems were designed and compared in terms of axial versus helical chirality and electron withdrawing strength of the acceptor units. The results show that the dihedral angle between the carbazole moieties plays a crucial role in determining the efficiency of CP-Thermally Activated Delayed Fluoresence (TADF) and the intensity of CPL, with an opposite trend observed as a function of solvent polarity.
