Reassessing the computational advantage of quantum-controlled ordering of gates

Summary: Research on indefinite causal structures is rapidly evolving and has the potential to revolutionize classical understanding of space-time and enhance quantum information processing functionalities. It has been shown that indefinite causal structures offer exponential advantages in communication complexity and can determine the properties of two unitary gates with a single call to each gate in quantum computation. Certain specific Fourier promise problems can be solved with fewer queries than previously thought, which limits the expected advantage of indefinite causal structures in these problems.
