Hypocalcemia and bone mineral changes in hemodialysis patients with low bone mass treated with denosumab: a 2-year observational study

Rikako Hiramatsu et al.

Summary: The study revealed that hemodialysis patients may experience acute hypocalcemia following denosumab injection. High bone turnover was identified as an independent risk factor for the calcium declines induced by denosumab. Denosumab significantly increased bone mineral density at the lumbar spine and femoral neck after 24 months.
