Structural and optical properties of Ti and Cu co-dopedZnOthin films for photovoltaic applications of dye sensitized solar cells

Bilal Mehmood et al.

Summary: ZnO, 1% Ti doped ZnO, and 1% Ti and Cu co-doped ZnO thin films were deposited on glass substrates using sol-gel technique. The co-doping of Ti and Cu significantly impacted the structural properties of the films, affecting grain size, lattice parameters, and dislocation line density. Optical analysis showed high transmittance in the visible region, with the 1% Ti and 1% Cu co-doped ZnO film exhibiting high absorbance and refractive index compared to other doped films. Dye-sensitized solar cells using the Ti-Cu co-doped film achieved the highest efficiency, attributed to increased surface area, reduced recombination rate, and enhanced electron injection efficiency. Co-doping of Cu and Ti into ZnO thin films is suggested to enhance solar cell efficiency.

Investigation of structural, morphological, optical and electrical properties of Co/Ni co-doped ZnO thin films

Noubeil Guermat et al.

Summary: This study reports the preparation and characterization of zinc oxide thin films on glass substrates using spray pyrolysis technique. The effects of cobalt and nickel doping, as well as nickel/cobalt co-doping, on the properties of the films were investigated. The co-doped ZnO film with 3%Ni:3%Co showed potential for optoelectronic applications such as solar cell manufacturing with transparent electrodes.
